Second seeded McKendree (Ill.) College fell to seventh seeded MidAmerica Nazarene (Kan.) University 7-5 in eight innings. The Bearcats from McKendree notched five runs in the first inning to take a dominating lead. But the Pioneers fought back, scoring five of their own in the top of the fifth and leaving the game tied after seven innings. MidAmerica broke that tie in the top of the eight, scoring two runs. McKendree was unable to make a comeback, giving the Pioneers the win.

Whitney Schmidt collected the win, pitching eight innings. The senior allowed eight hits and two walks while striking out five.

Colene Pogue started on the mound for the Bearcats. Pogue struck out four and gave up four hits before being relieved in the fourth by Amy Quirin. Quirin closed out the game and took the loss, walking four and giving up five hits.
