The three-time defending HAAC Champion women's cross country team finished second in the conference this year in a tough loss to Lindenwood. The women ran well and had four named to the All-Conference team with three of those runners receiving automatic qualification for the national championship. National qualifiers are freshman Irene Mitei (18:28), senior Vanessa Weltmer (18:40), and junior Michelle Phillips (18:56). The national qualifiers finished in the top 5 in the conference. Also earning all-conference honors was senior Linah Chelagat (19:28). Rounding out MNU's finishers were sophomore Adrienne Black (20:14), junior Sarah Young (21:15), freshman Monica Holmes (22:00), freshman Ashley Mackey (22:11), junior Becca Mathews (22:13), and sophomore Katie Sooter (23:41). The team has a slim chance of receiving an at-large bid to the national championship.

The men finished third in the HAAC championship meet. They had three runners named to the All-Conference team with two of those runners receiving automatic qualification for the national championship. National qualifiers are junior Simion Tooh (25:04) and sophomore Jeb Flynn (26:00). Also on the all-conference team is freshman Willy Kessio (26:14). Other MNU finishers include senior Noah Too (28:04), senior J.T. Horstick (28:09), sophomore Conroy Newman (28:47), and freshman Stephen Kimuhu (28:54).

Over the last seven years, the women's team has been conference champion three times and runner-up three times. The men have won five of the last eight conference championships but have fallen short the last two years.
