Residence Hall Council

Our Mission
"RHC exists to provide residential students, through encouragement, the opportunity and structure to achieve individual growth by facilitating community involvement. It enables students to be self governing by providing them with ownership and the responsibility for the quality of student life on campus.

Residence Hall Philosophy:
At MNU we believe the "residence hall experience" contributes significantly to the students' total educational experience. Residence halls at MNU are meant to provide more than a place for sleep or studies. They are meant to provide an environment for personal growth. The learning, which takes place outside the classroom, is of equal value to that within the classroom. By living together, students are exposed to people with different backgrounds, habits, ideas, personalities, and ways of meeting needs. Hopefully through the process of learning to live with different people, students learn more about themselves.

To summarize; residence halls exist:

  • To be an extension of the classroom.
  • To provide a comfortable, convenient living environment.
  • To encourage students to make new friends and learn to appreciate a variety of people.
  • To help students learn independence.
